AOS delivered one of Lahore's most significant urban data digitisation projects for the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) scanning, indexing, and digitising over 3.2 million pages of plot files while developing an integrated GIS-based land records management system that transformed how the LDA stores, accesses, and manages urban property and planning records.
The Lahore Development Authority oversees land use, housing schemes, and urban development across one of Pakistan's largest and fastest-growing cities. Managing this responsibility requires accurate, accessible records of millions of plots, housing developments, and land transactions records that, prior to AOS's involvement, existed primarily in fragmented, paper-based formats.
AOS was engaged to address this challenge through a comprehensive programme of document digitisation, GIS-based mapping, and integrated software development creating a modern, searchable digital infrastructure for LDA's land and planning records.
Large-Scale Document Digitisation
AOS scanned and indexed over 3.2 million pages of LDA plotfiles a project of significant logistical complexity requiring structured workflows, strict quality controls, and careful chain-of-custody management for sensitive legal documents.
GIS-Based Land Records Management System
We developed an integrated GIS platform enabling LDA to manage housing scheme maps, plot boundaries, and land ownership data spatially linking geographic information directly to property records for fast, accurate retrieval.
Data Entry & Validation
Structured data entry teams processed key records from digitised documents into the new management system, with multi-stage validation ensuring accuracy and completeness across all entered data.
Housing Scheme Map Digitisation
AOS digitised maps related to LDA's housing schemes and urban land management projects creating accurate digital versions of previously paper-based spatial records and integrating them into the GIS platform.
